On the afternoon of March 18, 2019, Deputy Director of the Investment Promotion Agency Li Yong met with the delegation led by Ernst van den Ende, member of the Board of the Wageningen University and Research Center of Holland. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on promoting investment cooperation between China and Holland in agriculture and food industry and building a cross-border investment promotion platform for Chinese and Dutch agriculture and food industries.
Professor Van Der Eden introduced the basic situation and main research directions of Wageningen University and Research Center (hereinafter referred to as “WURC”). He said that WURC is a world leading university and research institution of agriculture and food industry, and is committed to providing research support for global issues such as greenhouse effect and food security. WURC hopes to provide research support for Chinese enterprises and promote project cooperation through the business network of the Investment Promotion Agency. Professor Van der Eden thanked the Investment Promotion Agency for the support for and assistance in expanding their business in China and expressed his willingness to further strengthen cooperation in market expansion and project matchmaking.
Deputy Director Li Yong introduced the main duties and work ideas of the Investment Promotion Agency. He said that in order to promote the efficient matchmaking of the resources of domestic and foreign advantageous industries, attract multinational corporations and foreign high-quality SMEs to participate in China's economic development, and promote domestic enterprises to participate in global market competition and cooperation, the Investment Promotion Agency is building a cross-border industry platform. He hoped that with the joint efforts of both sides, a cross-border investment promotion platform for Chinese and Dutch agriculture and food industries will be built as soon as possible, and the cooperation and exchanges between Chinese and Dutch enterprises in related fields will be strengthened.
