On November 12, 2018, Director Liu Dianxun of the Investment Promotion Agency led a working group to attend the the “Belt and Road” Trade and Investment Policy and Practice Meeting in Hong Kong and delivered a speech. Deputy Director Qiu Hong of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Director Chu Shijia of the Comprehensive Department of the Ministry of Commerce, Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Bernard Chan Pak-li, and Deputy Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council Raymond Yip attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Other attendees were more than 400 representatives from business associations and enterprises from the mainland and Hong Kong.
In his speech, Director Liu Dianxun introduced that Investment Promotion Agency carried out a series of work on industrial investment promotion in recent years, established a cross-border industrial investment promotion platform and brought together the practical experience of effectively synergizing domestic and international industrial resources. In the panel discussion, Director Liu Dianxun also elaborated on the vision of work that the Investment Promotion Agency hopes to realize with all walks of life in Hong Kong. He hopes that Hong Kong will continue to give a full play to its advantages in international investment and financing and service platforms to help the SAR and the mainland to conduct closer investment and exchanges.
This meeting was jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association and organized by the Commercial Office of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HK SAR. It aims at giving a play to Hong Kong's role as an international platform and promoting the mainland and Hong Kong enterprises to carry out investment cooperation in countries along the Belt and Road.
