To implement “the trade power action plan” and strengthen the overseas publicity of self-owned brands, the Promotion of China Brands in Building Sector hosted by Trade Development Bureau and the INTERBUILD AFRICA ( Johannesburg, South Africa ) kicked off on August 15.
Economic & Commercial Counsellor of China’s Embassy in the Republic of South Africa Zhao Zhongyi, Deputy Director General of Trade Development Bureau Jin Hong, Executive Director of Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery and the host of the INTERBUILD AFRICA Gary Corin attended the opening ceremony of the Promotion of China Brands in Building Sector and delivered speeches. Attending were the guests including Chairman of Sino-South Africa Chamber of Commerce Xu Changbin, , Chairman of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao-South Africa Chamber of Commerce Wu Shaokang, Head of Association of African Exhibition Organizers Wesley Lofstedt, and nearly a hundred representatives from the Chinese and South African enterprises.
Counsellor Zhao Zhongyi pointed out in his speech that the heads of China and South Africa have mapped out new blueprints and opened new chapters for Sino-South Africa and Sino-Africa cooperation. South Africa has become the pioneering demonstration country for synergizing connectivity with China’s Belt and Road Initiative. In recent years, South Africa has insisted on the governance philosophy of developing economy, attracting investment, creating employment and improving people's livelihood and has created new opportunities for China and South Africa to jointly push forward cooperation in manufacturing, agriculture, marine economy, infrastructure construction, human resource development and finance. As an African country with comprehensive strength, regional advantages, abundant resources, excellent infrastructure, a well-regulated market and sound legal system, South Africa has obvious advantages in attracting Chinese capital, technology, enterprises and talents. China and South Africa are seeking win-win cooperation, complementing each other with advantages and ushering in the new historic opportunities.
Deputy Director General Jin Hong said in his speech that Sino-South Africa pragmatic cooperation has been fruitful and promising. As the official trade promotion agency directly under the Ministry of Commerce of China, we hope through the Promotion of China Brands in Building Sector, the Chinese and South African entrepreneurs can communicate and negotiate with each other face to face, keep in touch close, explore cooperation opportunities and make more efforts to promote mutual friendship and enhance Sino-South Africa economic cooperation.
The brand promotion will last four days. More than 40 building materials enterprises from Guangdong, Zhejiang, Fujian and other provinces and cities will promote their own brands and build their own brand image through on-site display, new product release, matchmaking negotiations.
The brand promotion has attracted many businessmen from South Africa and other African countries in the neighborhood and has played a positive role in enhancing the influence of Chinese brands in Africa.
